Lucinda Welsh Launches Campaign in Race for MDJ
Constable/School Resource Officer Seeks Election, Committed to a More Expeditious
and Efficient Court
Benton, PA— Pennsylvania State Constable, Lucinda “Luci” Welsh, has officially announced her
intent to seek election for Magisterial District Judge for District Court 26-3-01. In February,
Welsh and her volunteers will be collecting signatures from residents of the district in support of
her nomination. Individuals, and several local organizations have voiced their support and will
be signing petitions to place her on the ballot for the May 16 Primary Election. Welsh plans to
attend Magisterial District Judge Certification Training in June, 2023 in preparation for her
potential seat as MDJ.
Lucinda Welsh has served as a Pennsylvania State Constable for the last 7 years and is
currently in her fifth year as a School Resource Officer. She has worked diligently to change the
face of the Constabulary in Columbia County, and to represent School Resource Officers in the
most positive way. She has taken her responsibility as guardian, mentor and leader very
seriously, and has performed her duties with integrity, impartiality and respect.
Thomas Anderson, Founder and Vice President of the Columbia-Montour Constables
Association has endorsed Welsh, saying, “I nominated Lucinda Welsh for President of our
association for her integrity and professionalism as a Pennsylvania State Constable. She excels
in protecting and serving her community and will tackle corruption in Columbia County as
Magisterial District Judge.”
According to Welsh, it is her mission “to provide the citizens of this community with a municipal
court that is dedicated to due process, held fiscally accountable, economical to taxpayers, and
is as efficient and expeditious as possible.”
During her time as Constable, she has organized many fundraisers, food and toy drives,
donated and delivered many holiday meals, and lunches for students during the pandemic. She
is a volunteer firefighter and EMT-B, President of the Columbia-Montour Constables
Association, and a member of the Fishing Creek Sportsmen’s Association. She spent many
years farming, and she is a proud supporter of the Future Farmers of America. She is a PA Fish
and Boat Commission Water Rescue Technician, Stop the Bleed Instructor, and a NASRO
Certified Advanced School Resource Officer.
